How I Know I’m Getting Old
I had spicy beef with eggplant over rice today for lunch, and a few hours later I noticed a burning feeling in my esophagus and chest. I didn't think much of it and didn't think it would bother me too much in my brazilian jiu jitsu class, but holy crap it was awful. The worst parts came whenever my partner had me in a real bad position with a lot of pressure on my stomach. There were several instances where I was sure I was going to throw up on him. Not wanting to be known as "that guy," I took a short break and resumed shortly after. But the break didn't really help. I was constantly worried that I would throw up without notice.
It's 6 hours later from when I first ate that meal and I'm still feeling it! What the heck? Is it normal for 25 year olds to get heartburn? I really hope this doesn't mean I won't be able to eat spicy food anymore, because I LOVE spicy food.
The bad ankles . . . the stubborn tire around my waist . . . and now heartburn. Aging SUCKS.
