LML LOVE MY LIFE
Just got back home. Was in a cab crossing the Manhattan bridge and this car sped past my cab going at least 100mph. He sped past another car cutting out of the lane and careened into the right side of the barrier and then bounced a few more times into the highway walls. His car was pretty fucked up. It was not bad enough that the guy was seriously injured but his car was pretty totaled and fucked up.
The cab driver starting cursing in Chinese . . . rough translation "good for this motherfucker motherfuckers like these are the fucking worst" . . . and everyone in the cab was just thankful that that motherfucker fucked his own shit up and did not bring his trouble to anyone else.
FUCK THESE DRUNK DRIVERS.
Glad he did not cause anyone else to get hurt and I'm glad I was a witness and not a participant in that mess. It's a crazy feeling to see that happen right in front of you . . . some guy zooming past you doing 100+ and then totaling his car. LML.
Anyway. I had a surprisingly good day today. I met up with a good friend of mine who I have not seen for a long time for dinner in the city. It's nice to sit down one on one with someone sometimes and just have a nice conversation. It's especially nice because I rarely hang out with my pre-college friends anymore. Sometimes friendships die out because everyone is just busy with their own lives as we all grow older. Different priorities and just different roads taken.
These days it feels so hard to keep in touch with everyone. Chilling with someone has to be planned days or weeks in advance. I'm not trying to make myself sound like the busiest guy in the world, but it's just how it seems to play out as I get older. When you're young time is such an abundant commodity. Life is great, but sometimes it feels like life also gets in the way . . .
I guess that's what makes these limited interactions I have with friends all the more special.
